Barcelona are reportedly determined to tie Ousmane Dembele down to a new deal following his improved fortunes in Catalonia.
The injury-plagued winger has so far failed to live up to expectations since arriving in an initial £97m move from Borussia Dortmund, although he is starting to prove his worth under Ronald Koeman.
Dembele has continued to struggle with physical problems, but he has started 14 La Liga games this term - chipping in with four goals and two assists - and Barca are said to be impressed with his development.
As a result, Mundo Deportivo claims that the former Dortmund man's future is a priority for the club, as his existing deal at Camp Nou will run out at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
The report also states that Dembele is now a fundamental part of Koeman's plans at Camp Nou, and the club are delighted with the way that he has responded to his frustrating injury woes, as well as his failed move to Manchester United last summer.
Dembele has amassed 28 goals and 20 assists from 109 games across all competitions for the Blaugrana, and he struck the opening goal in France's 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan in World Cup Qualifying on Sunday. body check tags ::
