Barcelona were reportedly priced out of a transfer for Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi after the Serie A side demanded a sum of £20m plus Ivan Rakitic.
The Old Lady brought Bernardeschi to Turin in the summer of 2017 for a fee of £35.8m following an impressive 2016-17 campaign at Fiorentina.
Rakitic, on the other hand, was reportedly among the players Barcelona were open to selling over the summer, with the Croatia international said to be keen on joining Maurizio Sarri's side.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, no such move materialised due to Barcelona baulking at Juventus's demand of an extra £20m for a player valued at around £35m.
The La Liga champions, having spent £108m on Antoine Griezmann over the summer, were also priced out of a transfer for Neymar, whom Paris Saint-Germain were only willing to sell if they received £200m.
Reports have suggested that Juventus will return with a fresh approach for Rakitic in January, although it remains unclear if Bernardeschi is still a target for Barcelona.
