Barcelona sporting director Ramon Planes reportedly scouted Getafe defender Djene Dakonam against Espanyol on Saturday night.
Djene played the full 90 minutes in central defence as Getafe recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Espanyol in the Spanish capital.
According to Marca, Barcelona sent sporting director Planes to watch the 26-year-old ahead of a potential January bid.
Dakonam joined Getafe from Belgian outfit Sint-Truden in the summer of 2017 and impressed during his first season in La Liga, scoring once in 36 appearances during the 2017-18 campaign.
The Togo international is believed to have a £31m release clause inserted into his current deal, and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona would be prepared to pay that price in the winter window.
Dakonam, who has also previously spent time with Segunda Division club Alcorcon, was linked with Leicester City during the recent summer transfer window.
