Inter Milan allegedly want Arturo Vidal to push for a departure from Barcelona next month.
Despite being a regular in Ernesto Valverde's squad at Camp Nou, just 34 of Vidal's 71 appearances have come from the starting lineup.
With the Chile international having been left frustrated with his lack of regular football, it has been suggested that the 32-year-old may move to Inter in January.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport says that the two clubs are currently not on the same wavelength regarding a deal.
While Barca are said to be satisfied with a loan deal with an obligation to buy, Inter do not want to be forced into pushing through a permanent transfer.
Should the teams reach a compromise, it is claimed that Inter will have to part with £17m in one of the next two transfer windows.
