Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted that he wants to push through a straight-swap deal involving Francisco Trincao and Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Adama Traore.
At the start of 2021-22, Barcelona allowed Trincao to move to Molineux on a season-long loan deal, while Traore was given permission to return to his boyhood club in January in a separate loan agreement.
While Trincao has not lived up to expectations in the Premier League, contributing just one goal and one assist, Traore has made an instant impact at Camp Nou.
Despite speculation that Wolves are unlikely to take up their option to sign Trincao on a permanent basis, Laporta has acknowledged that Barcelona will be pushing for a straight-swap.
Speaking to RAC1, Laporta said: "I think a swap deal with Wolves between Francisco Trincao and Adama Traore could be a very good option.
"We're really happy with Adama and his impact, attitude, performances."
Although Barcelona have the option of buying Traore for £29m, they are in a strong position to negotiate a lower fee if Wolves are initially not open to such a proposal with Traore's contract due to expire in 2023. body check tags ::
