Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has revealed that he is desperate for Brazil teammate Neymar to join him at Parc des Princes.
It is understood that PSG were prepared to pay a world-record fee to sign Neymar from Barcelona in the summer, but the attacker ultimately signed a new contract at Camp Nou, which will run until 2021.
Marquinhos, however, remains hopeful that his French club will be able to sign the 24-year-old, who has scored 91 times in 154 appearances for Barcelona since joining from Santos in the summer of 2013.
"I'd say Neymar [above all others] because he's my friend, but, more than anything else, due to his qualities [as a player]. He can make the difference at any time, he is an important player for the Selecao and, in addition, he is young, so he can still develop," Marquinhos told Goal.com.
Marquinhos and Neymar were both part of the Brazil squad that won gold at the 2016 Olympic Games.
