Newcastle United are reportedly interested in bringing Barcelona attacker Raphinha back to the Premier League as the North-East club look to continue their spending in the upcoming transfer window.
The Brazilian joined the Catalan giants from Leeds United last summer following a successful stint at Elland Road - one in which the attacker helped Marcelo Bielsa's men secure a ninth-placed Premier League finish in the 2020-21 campaign.
Primarily operating on the left wing for Barcelona, the 26-year-old has featured 27 times in La Liga for Xavi's men as they look set to secure the league title, with second-placed Real Madrid currently eight points behind.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle have their sights on Raphinha ahead of this summer's transfer window and will look to lure the player back to the Premier League after just one season in Spain.
The report adds that the Brazil international is not a priority sale despite Barcelona's financial woes, however the club are aware of growing interest in the player, especially from Eddie Howe's men in the Premier League.
With Ousmane Dembele sidelined with a muscle injury, Raphinha will likely start in his preferred position of right winger this afternoon against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou, when the former Leeds man will be looking to add to his five league goals this season. body check tags ::
