Barcelona have agreed new contracts with both Carles Puyol and Xavi that will see the players remain at the Nou Camp until 2016.
Puyol's contract at Barcelona was due to expire at the end of the season but he has committed the remainder of his career to the La Liga leaders.
Xavi had 18 months remaining on his existing contract but he has taken the opportunity to join Puyol in remaining at the Catalan club until 2016.
The news of Puyol's and Xavi's contract extensions was announced at the same time that it was revealed that Lionel Messi had agreed a new six-year deal at Barcelona.
