Barcelona have reportedly identified Roma's Miralem Pjanic as the player to improve their midfield options in the second half of the season.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international has already scored four league goals for his Italian club this season, in addition to registering four assists.
The 25-year-old has long been linked with a move away from Rome, but thus far, the Serie A outfit have managed to repel interest in the midfielder.
According to Corriere della Sera, however, Barcelona are preparing a January bid upwards of £30m and are hopeful of convincing Roma to sell.
Pjanic, who joined Roma from Lyon in 2011, is fast closing in on 150 league appearances for his current club.
