Sporting Gijon have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Alen Halilovic on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona.
It has been suggested that Barcelona are keen for the Croatian to earn first-team experience this season, and Hamburger SV were rumoured to be interested in the 19-year-old.
However, doubts about the opportunities Halilovic would be given in the Bundesliga were raised, which attracted Sporting to pursue a deal for the attacking midfielder.
According to Mundo Deportivo, he will complete his move to El Molinon by the end of the week but is unlikely to be available for Sunday's La Liga opener against Real Madrid.
Halilovic has made just one appearance for the first team since joining Barcelona from Dinamo Zagreb in 2014.
