Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti has hinted that he wants to ink a new deal to remain at the La Liga champions this summer.
The France defender has enjoyed a standout season for the Catalan club, who claimed the league title at a canter and also secured another Copa del Rey crown during Ernesto Valverde's first season in charge.
A number of European clubs are thought to be monitoring Umtiti's contract negotiations with Barca, but the 24-year-old has now revealed that he expects a deal to be done despite slow progress surrounding the talks.
"There is nothing new," Umtiti told reporters while on international duty for France, according to Marca.
"I look at my phone, but nothing has advanced. It won't annoy me if it's not sorted before the World Cup because negotiations have already been going on for several months.
"It's important, though, to try to solve this case before the start of the World Cup. From my point of view, it will be done."
Umtiti has made 50 appearances for Barcelona since joining from Lyon in 2016.
