Martin Allen will miss Barnet's League Two meeting with Crewe Alexandra next weekend, as he is to undergo a minor operation on his heart.
The 53-year-old is suffering from tightness of the arteries around his heart, which requires surgery to rectify.
Allen does not expect to be away from the sidelines for too long, however, targeting a return to his duties at The Hive after a week of recovery.
Assistant manager James Russell, development side chief Rossi Eames, goalkeeping coach Carl Muggleton and physio Luigi Cerullo have all been tasked with supervising Barnet for the visit of Crewe.
