League One leaders Bristol City hold a 1-0 advantage over Barnsley at half time at Oakwell this afternoon.
Joe Bryan nearly got his side off to the perfect start, but his left-footed shot from outside the box flew narrowly wide of Ross Turnbull's goal.
Barnsley felt that they should have had a penalty 15 minutes in when Derrick Williams bundled down Ryan Williams in the area, but the referee waved away the appeals.
Bryan beat his marker to get to Luke Freeman's cross on 28 minutes, but could only stab his effort wide, before Devante Cole brought a sprawling save out of Frank Fielding at the other end a minute later.
The Robins took the lead on 36 minutes when Luke Ayling found himself unmarked in the Barnsley box and nodded home Bryan's cross.
