Danny Wilson has said that Barnsley's win over Charlton Athletic this evening has given the team "belief" that they can avoid relegation.
The 2-1 win at The Valley moves the Tykes off the bottom of the Championship table and just two points from safety.
The manager told the club's website: "We played good counter-attacking play and then we put one brilliant ball into the box from the corner and [opening goalscorer Jean-Yves M'voto] is at the back to head it home. You have to say well done to the big man, he's deserved it. That gave us a real edge in the game.
"Overall I felt we were very much in control of the game and didn't look, in my opinion, under any pressure. Again, I don't think [goalkeeper Luke Steele] had anything to do until a save right at the end.
"It's given everybody that belief again and we've got a fantastic game at the weekend."
Barnsley face Yorkshire rivals Leeds United on Saturday.
