Barnsley have signed former Newcastle United midfielder Dennis Knight on a free transfer.
The 19-year-old was released by the Magpies earlier this season without making a senior appearance at St James' Park.
After leaving Newcastle, he underwent a trial with League One side Hartlepool United, but he failed to earn a contract.
Knight is expected to feature in Barnsley's squad for the Yorkshire derby with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
