Conference North outfit Barrow have appointed Darren Edmondson as their new manager.
The 42-year-old resigned from his position at Cumbrian rivals Workington Reds this morning, just hours after chairman Humphrey Dobie had stepped down at Borough Park.
It is believed that Edmondson has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Barrow, who have been without a permanent manager since Dave Bayliss parted company with the Bluebirds in early November.
Edmondson served as caretaker player-manager at Barrow in 2005, before leaving to join Workington in 2006.
He became Workington manager in 2007 and went on to take charge of 311 matches, winning 117.
