National League outfit Barrow have confirmed the appointment of Paul Cox as the club's new manager.
The position had only been available for the last 24 hours following the departure of Darren Edmondson by mutual consent.
"Primarily we looked at his record and it's very impressive. He certainly has a track record of exactly the one that we want to embark on ourselves," owner Paul Casson told the North West Evening Mail.
In 2013 former Notts County defender Cox guided Mansfield Town to the National League title.
More recently the 43-year-old had been in charge of Torquay United, but he lasted just three months in the Plainmoor hotseat.
