Nice came from a goal behind to record a 3-1 victory over Bastia in Corsica.
Bastia started the better of the two sides and they sent out a warning to the visitors when Brandao dragged a shot just wide of the post.
It was a sign of what was to come as the hosts capitalised on an extended spell on top thanks to Gael Danic, who broke the deadlock by picking out the top corner with a stunning 25-yard strike.
Nice responded impressively to the setback and they started a first-half turnaround by equalising when Nampalys Mendy produced a long-range strike of his own to beat Jean-Louis Leca with the powerful effort.
The visitors then led at the break after Jean Seri beat a challenge before pulling the ball back to Valere Germain, who fired home from the edge of the box.
In a similar move early in the second half, Germain had the chance to double his own tally but could only miscue his effort to make the save a routine one for Leca.
Despite enjoying spells on top, Bastia always looked vulnerable at the back and they were left to thank Leca once again when he tipped another Germain effort to safety.
The goalkeeper's display was not enough to provide the platform for a comeback as Nice wrapped up the win in stoppage time when Said Benrahma finished off a break with an emphatic finish.
