Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of German international Roberto Hilbert from Turkish side Besiktas.

Hilbert, a right-back, has agreed terms on a two-year deal and has been handed the number 14 shirt.

"I'm delighted the transfer went through," Bundesliga.com quotes the 28-year-old as saying.

"Leverkusen are a great club where I'll have the chance to show what I can do both in the Bundesliga and the Champions League."

Hilbert was part of the Stuttgart side that won the Bundesliga in 2007.
