Niko Kovac’s side have not won at home since September 15.

Bayern Munich’s struggles at the Allianz Arena continued after they conceded an 89th-minute equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Freiburg.

Serge Gnabry looked to have ended Bayern’s run of three home games without a win in all competitions when he found the bottom right corner 10 minutes from time.

But Lucas Holer levelled late on leave the Bundesliga champions four points behind early leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben had earlier gone close for the hosts, while Tim Kleindienst had a goal disallowed for the visitors.

Bayern, playing in front of their own fans for the first time in almost a month, had not won in Munich since beating Bayern Leverkusen back on September 15.

That result was followed by disappointing home draws against Augsburg and Ajax and the shock 3-0 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach at the start of October.

The Bavarians edged a fairly uneventful opening period and had two excellent opportunities to break the deadlock.

Top scorer Lewandowski, going in search of his sixth league strike of the season, had the first when he burst into the box with a fine solo run before his precise shot was kept out of the bottom left corner by Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow.

Former Holland forward Robben then wasted an opportunity 10 minutes before the break, collecting a lofted cross inside the box but unable to beat Schwolow.

Freiburg, on a three-game unbeaten league run, had the ball in the back of the net nine minutes into the second period but the effort from striker Kleindienst was ruled out by a linesman’s flag.

Referee Felix Zwayer then consulted VAR regarding a Bayern penalty claim before opting not to award a spot-kick.

Niko Kovac’s side eventually appeared on course for third successive league win when Germany winger Gnabry found space inside the area to leave Schwolow helpless.

However there was a late twist as forward Holer connected with Christian Gunter’s cross to steer the ball into the bottom right corner and snatch a point for the away side.
