Mattia Perin's agent has claimed that the Italy international rejected an approach from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The Genoa goalkeeper has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club due to his impressive form in Serie A last season, but the 21-year-old was unwilling to serve as Manuel Neuer's understudy at the Allianz Arena.
"Bayern Munich is old news now," Matteo Roggi told Calcionews24.com. "They contacted me a month ago and I got in touch with the club.
"They were looking for a number two, but Mattia will be 22 [in November] and he's broken into the national team. Therefore, the basic requirement for him now is regular football.
"To serve as second choice to Manuel Neuer at the age of 22 would not have been the right choice for Mattia's career."
AC Milan are rumoured to be interested in signing Perin this summer.
