Xherdan Sahqiri's agent has revealed that the Bayern Munich attacking midfielder is unlikely to be joining Roma in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old was believed to be a target for Roma in the summer, but a move failed to materialise, and his representative believes that there are too many hurdles to overcome for a transfer to be agreed this winter.
"Right now the situation is difficult, I doubt he can move in January," Ulisse Savini told Centro Suono Sport. "There will be a decisive meeting in December between the player, his brother, another agent and Bayern, to decide on Shaqiri's future.
"This summer he said he liked the scene with the Giallorossi, so it seems clear to me that he'd still be happy to play for Roma, but he won't leave in January - he played in the Champions League and therefore can no longer be used for it.
"This complicates the deal, especially as it is an expensive one – and I doubt Bayern could find a replacement to match him."
Reports have suggested that Bayern could use Shaqiri as part of a deal to sign Ander Herrera from Manchester United.
