Brentford have completed the signing of Kim Ji-soo from Seongnam.
The Bees have signed the young defender for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal with an option for Brentford to extend by an additional year.
The 18-year-old will now link up with Brentford's B team, who will begin their preparations for the new season on Thursday.
Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: "Ji-soo is an excellent prospect who was in demand from many teams in Europe this summer.
"He performed very well at the Under-20 World Cup recently so it's a great credit to Lee Dykes and the recruitment team that we managed to sign him.
"We will give Ji-soo all the time he needs to learn English, adapt to life in England and grow into our club in the B team, and like all of our B-team players he will earn the opportunity to train and play with the first team based on his performances."
According to the Daily Mail, Kim has attracted interest from across Europe, and he was regularly scouted by Bayern Munich and Sporting Lisbon.
The teenager worked his way through the youth ranks at Seongnam, before making his debut for the club in May 2022.
The centre-back, who is comfortable using either foot, went on to make 21 competitive appearances for the South Korean club.
Kim started all six games for his country at the recent Under-20 World Cup, helping South Korea achieve a fourth-placed finish. body check tags ::
