Bastian Schweinsteiger has reportedly received interest from a number of clubs in Germany.
Since leaving Manchester United to sign for Chicago Fire in March, Schweinsteiger has made a total of 27 appearances in all competitions, but his contract is due to expire next month.
According to Welt am Sonntag, that has led to several teams in the Bundesliga targeting the signing of the midfielder on a free transfer.
Schweinsteiger made his name while representing Bayern Munich, with eight league titles and the Champions League being won during his stellar period in the first team between 2002 and 2015.
The 33-year-old has previously stated that he did not want to play for another team in his homeland, but it appears that he will be given another opportunity to play in Germany's top flight.
