Bayern Munich have reportedly joined the race to sign Valencia centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, who could seek pastures new in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old joined Valencia from Sampdoria in the summer of 2014 and has been linked with moves to both Barcelona and Real Madrid over the last couple of months.
According to AS, however, Bayern have risen to the head of the queue for the German international, despite the fact that his current deal runs until 2019.
It is also understood that the central defender has a release clause in the region of £37m, but it has previously been reported that Valencia may sell for a figure of £22m.
Mustafi has also previously admitted that he was "happy" with interest from other clubs when questioned on a possible move to Real Madrid.
