Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to bring Everton striker Romelu Lukaku to the club next season and are willing to break the Bundesliga transfer record to land their man.
The Bavarian giants are said to have sent their head of recruitment Michael Reschke to the Etihad Stadium last weekend to run a check on the Belgium international.
Lukaku found the net in that match against Manchester City in impressive style to take his tally to six goals in five Premier League outings, following a previous barren run of none in 11 stretching from the tail end of last season.
According to The Sun, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti will spend the rest of the season weighing up a potential £55m bid for the 23-year-old - surpassing the £34m Die Roten paid to sign Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao in 2012.
Lukaku, who has made it clear in the past that he wants to play Champions League football on a regular basis, has nine goals overall for club and country this season.
