Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke will not be risked for Belgium in their final World Cup qualifier against Wales, manager Marc Wilmots has confirmed.
Wilmots had initially said that Benteke may be needed to help Belgium guarantee qualification for next year's World Cup, but now that their place in the finals has been secured, the 22-year-old will sit out.
"He trained for the first time in three weeks with the group on Friday but I won't risk him," Wilmots told reporters.
Belgium guaranteed top spot in Group A by beating Croatia 2-1 on Friday.
