Benfica have bounced back from their midweek Europa League disappointment to complete an unprecedented domestic treble in Portugal.
The Eagles were just four days removed from their defeat on penalties to Sevilla in Europe when they beat Rio Ave 1-0 in the Portuguese Cup final this afternoon.
Nico Gaitan struck the only goal of the game as Benfica won the cup for the 25th time, but the first since 2004.
Having already wrapped up the league title and the League Cup, Benfica become the first side to win all three domestic trophies since the League Cup was introduced in 2007-08.
Jorge Jesus's side finished a comfortable seven points clear at the top of the league and also beat Rio Ave in the final of the League Cup earlier this month.
Meanwhile, they have also secured a record 10th Portuguese double, winning both the cup and the league in the same season for the first time in 27 years.
