Benfica have recorded a hard-fought victory over Boavista to move to fourth in the Primeira Liga table.
Benfica went on the offensive in the opening stages, with Raul Jimenez heading over in the 14th minute from Goncalo Guedes's cross.
Guedes himself got on the end of a cross, from Nicolas Gaitan, to shoot past Boavista keeper Mika in the 39th minute as the Lisbon outfit took a one-goal lead into the break.
Former Fulham striker Kostas Mitroglou was introduced by Benfica manager Rui Vitoria early in the second period as they searched for a second goal.
Vitoria had to wait until the 88th minute to see his side finish off the game as Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez struck to seal the three points for Benfica.
Boavista were reduced to ten men in the dying moments of the tie due to Idrissa Mandiang's second yellow.
Benfica move up one spot to fourth in the league table, while Boavista remain in 14th.
