Besiktas have confirmed that they are in talks with Fiorentina over bringing striker Mario Gomez to Turkey this summer.
Gomez joined La Viola from Bayern Munich two years ago but has seen his time in Serie A hampered by injuries.
However, Besiktas are willing to gamble on the 30-year-old striker, who scored 113 goals during his four-year spell in Munich.
He only managed to net seven league goals for Fiorentina, but a statement on Besiktas' official website confirmed that they had entered negotiations with the Italian outfit.
The deal is rumoured to be costing the Super Lig club around £4.2m, with a three-year contract on the table for Gomez.
The striker, who joined Fiorentina for more than £14m, has scored 25 goals in 60 appearances for Germany, although his last international match came almost a year ago in September 2014.
