Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton was left with "no arguments" after his side's 3-1 defeat at home to Braga in the Europa League.
Despite decent spells of possession, the Blues were ultimately outclassed by last year's beaten finalists.
"I've no arguments with the result," said Hughton.
"What we saw in Braga was a team who once they got into the forward areas and close to goal, they were more clinical and showed better quality than we did."
Despite the defeat, the manager said that he was pleased with what he saw on the pitch from his players.
"Although we very much wanted to win, and this is a great journey for the supporters and players, it's about the performance, and I saw enough to encourage me," he added.
Birmingham face another tough game on Sunday when they travel to second place Southampton in the Championship.
