Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has indicated that striker Nikola Zigic is pushing for his first start since re-signing for the club last month.
The Serbian forward departed St Andrew's during the summer but after impressing during three substitute appearances, Rowett has hinted that the 34-year-old could start in the FA Cup third round against Blyth Spartans on Saturday.
The 40-year-old is quoted by the Birmingham Mail as saying: "He'll start games and when he's not starting games, he gives us a different option off the bench.
"He's realistic about it. I've tried to be honest with him from the start. I think he's one of those, who if you treat him properly he's happy to give what he'll give. I've been really impressed with him so far."
Zigic has scored 36 times in 151 appearances for the Blues.
