Birmingham City have reportedly given Norwich City permission to speak to manager Chris Hughton about taking over at Carrow Road.
Reports emerged today claiming that the Premier League outfit are keen to begin discussions with the former Newcastle United boss over becoming Paul Lambert's successor.
It is understood that an approach has been made by the Canaries and Championship side Birmingham have allowed the club to hold talks with Hughton, according to radio station BBC WM.
Hughton is believed to be Norwich's top target since Lambert left the club for Aston Villa.
The 53-year-old Blues boss was also thought to be an early contender for the vacant managerial spot at West Bromwich Albion.
