Birmingham City midfielder Brian Howard has revealed that he may be forced to take legal action against former club CSKA Sofia over unpaid wages.
The 30-year-old signed on with the Blues until the end of the season last month after an ill-fated six-month spell with the Bulgarian outfit, who had failed to pay him for the previous three months.
"There were a lot of broken promises at CSKA and not getting paid was tough. It was an interesting experience," he told The Sun.
"They told me they would pay up last week but it has still not happened and I might have to take legal action.
"I had to get out. It was a tough time but I stayed strong and I'm really pleased to be at Birmingham and back in the Championship."
Howard netted his first goal for City in the 3-3 draw with Derby County last weekend.
