Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett has suggested that there should be a transfer window for managers.
The summer window for player transfers closed on Tuesday evening, almost a month after the new season began.
Rowett has said that clubs should give players, and managers in particular, time to perform to their best.
"There's a lot of debate to be had that the transfer window should shut, you know, a day before the first game of the season, maybe," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"I also think there should be a window for managers and staff as well, it should be the same. I mean, there's a case of Gary Bowyer at the moment where there are reports that he'd been sacked, which I find absolutely ridiculous.
"For me, it should be: you take your squad for the first game of the season, you take your manager and your coaches and then the only time you can change it is in January."
The next transfer window opens on January 1.
