Blackburn Rovers midfielder Danny Guthrie has revealed that he is keen to return to action next month.
The 28-year-old has spent the last four weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury that he sustained during the 1-1 draw away at Hull City.
However, having recently restarted training, Guthrie has pinpointed the upcoming international break as the perfect moment for him to regain full fitness.
"I'm back outside now doing some running and ball work, so I should be joining in with the team this week. Hopefully within the next week I'll be fit for selection," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"I want to get back fit and available before the international break and then there will be a two-week period where I can get some good training in and be raring to go after the break."
Liverpool academy graduate Guthrie joined Rovers on a free transfer in the summer following his release by Reading.
