Blackburn Rovers have mutually terminated Jordan Slew's contract after an unsuccessful three-and-a-half seasons with the club.
Slew joined Blackburn from Sheffield United for a fee of around £1m as an 18-year-old in September 2011, but has never started a game for the Ewood Park side.
A statement on the Lancashire club's website this evening read: "The club thanks Jordan for his work and dedication during his time at Ewood Park and wishes him all the best for the future."
His contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but he will now try to find a new club for the rest of 2014-15 after spending most of the first half of the campaign with Port Vale in League One.
