Northern Ireland international Corry Evans signs a new contract at Blackburn Rovers to keep him in place until the summer of 2019.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Corry Evans has put pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Ewood Park.

It caps a memorable few months for the 25-year-old, who also played his part in helping Northern Ireland qualify for next summer's European Championship finals.

Evans joined Rovers from Hull City in 2013, becoming a key player for both club and country in the two years since his reported £1m switch.

Speaking to Blackburn's official website after agreeing fresh terms, he said: "I'm delighted to get it signed and I'm looking forward to playing here for the next three-and-a-half years.

"From the first minute I walked through the door, I've thoroughly enjoyed my time and I'm looking forward to the future. It's a great club to play for and going to Brockhall every day for training is a great place to go to work.

"Everyone around the club has been great with me, the fans have been great, so I've really enjoyed my time. It's probably one of the longest spells I've been at a club in my professional career, so it does feel like home. I'm really settled where I am and I really enjoy playing here."

Evans, brother of West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny, has made 13 appearances for Blackburn this term and a further three for Northern Ireland.
