Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu is reportedly heading to the Far East for discussions with Chinese club Guangzhou.
The Nigerian striker has been told by the recently relegated Rovers that he can leave Ewood Park should they receive a suitable transfer fee.
His form in front of goal last season is believed to have alerted Guangzhou, who are willing to offer the 29-year-old a £5m contract to secure his services, according to The Mirror.
The former Middlesbrough and Portsmouth frontman is now expected to travel to China tomorrow to finalise the deal.
It had been reported that West Ham United were interested in his signature.
