Blackpool owner Owen Oyston claims that he has not yet had time to make up his mind on a takeover offer proposed by the Blackpool Supporters Trust.

Blackpool owner Owen Oyston has insisted that he is "seriously considering" a takeover offer from the Blackpool Supporters Trust (BST) after being accused of ignoring it.

BST made the offer earlier this month and set a deadline of July 21 for a response.

That deadline passed on Tuesday and yesterday BST said it was "disappointing but not in the least surprising" that they had not heard back from Oyston, who has owned the Tangerines since 1988.

Oyston today sent an email to the Blackpool Gazette clarifying that he has not yet had time to make his mind up on the proposal.

The email read: "Mr Owen Oyston has asked me to send you a note to advise he has not snubbed your offer as stated in The Gazette and is seriously considering it with his professional advisors.

"He cannot work within the deadline imposed upon him but will reply in due course when he has had the full advice from the professionals."

Blackpool were relegated to League One last season by finishing 19 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Championship.
