Lee Clark could be confirmed as Blackpool's new manager later today after it emerged that he has been offered the position by chairman Karl Oyston.
The Seasiders are looking to fill the vacancy created by Monday's sacking of Jose Riga, who took the job in the summer under uncertain financial circumstances.
Clark himself was fired by Birmingham City last week, but could be poised for a quick return to the dugout, at the only club sitting below the Blues in the Championship table.
The Blackpool Gazette reports that the 42-year-old has agreed basic terms with Oyston and will travel to Blackpool on Wednesday to conclude negotiations over a one-year rolling contract.
Steve Watson is expected to reprise the assistant manager role that he played to Clark at Birmingham.
