Blackpool have sacked head coach Jose Riga after less than five months in charge.
The Belgian, 57, joined the Seasiders over the summer after he impressed when keeping Charlton Athletic in the Championship last term.
His time at Blackpool has not once looked promising, though, with the club struggling to assemble a squad in the time for the new season before a slow start to the campaign.
They are seven points adrift of safety after 14 games of the season and have just one league win to their name.
"We couldn't leave the decision any longer to give someone else the opportunity to help us work our way out of the position we are currently in," Chairman Karl Oyston told the club website.
Riga and Oyston reportedly held crisis talks earlier today after Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Reading and it appears that they have resulted in Riga's removal.
Lee Clark, who was sacked by fellow Championship struggler Birmingham City last week, is the odds-on favourite to take over at Bloomfield Road.
