Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has said that last season's FA Cup semi-final defeat to Stoke still hurts.
The Trotters – who were on the verge of their first FA Cup final since 1958 – overcame Premier League outfits Wigan, Fulham and Birmingham en route to the semi-final, where the club would go on to lose 5-0.
"It still hurts," said Coyle. "When you progress to one step from the final of the best cup competition in the world you want to win it.
"Stoke were ruthless and we were disappointed because it was a game we could win."
Bolton begin their 2011-12 FA Cup campaign on the road at Macclesfield this afternoon.
