Crystal Palace have reportedly granted manager Dougie Freedman permission to discuss terms with fellow Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
Freedman had been considered a leading contender for the job at the Reebok Stadium ever since Owen Coyle was sacked earlier this month.
It is believed that Wanderers made an approach to Palace over the weekend to talk to the 38-year-old, who has six months remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park.
Having considered Bolton's request, Palace chairman Steve Parish informed them that he had accepted it this morning, according to Sky Sports News.
Talks between Freedman and Bolton are said to have been arranged for later today.
