Mick McCarthy reportedly has the choice of three managerial vacancies.
The 53-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked by Wolverhampton Wanderers in February of this year.
However, he has now been offered a return to management by the Championship trio of Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Burnley, according to the Express & Star.
The report claims that McCarthy has held talks with all three of the Lancashire-based clubs.
Following those discussions, it is believed that McCarthy currently favours a switch to Bolton over the other two.
He has also been linked with a return to the Republic of Ireland hotseat.
