Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba shed tears when waving to fans at the Reebok Stadium this evening.
The 24-year-old was making an appearance on the pitch just 47 days after suffering a cardiac arrest midway through an FA Cup tie against Spurs, who Bolton take on this evening.
In an interview beforehand, the former England Under-21 international told Sky Sports News: "I'm getting stronger every day, I am happy to be back.
"I was overwhelmed with the support I got and it helps me every single day. I've still got boxes of cards to go through."
He also thanked the public for their support, adding: "Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, not just to Bolton but to the whole country."
After exiting the pitch Muamba took his place in the crowd to watch tonight's Premier League fixture.
