Bolton Wanderers lose 2-1 against 10-man Bournemouth and remain at the foot of the Championship table.

Bolton Wanderers' woes continued this afternoon as they were beaten 2-1 at the Macron Stadium by 10-man Bournemouth.

Bolton started the game at the foot of the Championship table and without Dougie Freedman, who left the club on Friday.

It was the home side, who have only won one game in their last seven, that started the quicker with Craig Davies immediately testing Simon Francis, who could only parry away to his grateful defenders.

The Cherries weathered the early flurry from the hosts, however, and gradually began to control the game.

Yann Kermorgant was allowed to unleash a shot from the edge of the Bolton area, which Andy Lonergan could only palm away for a corner.

Kermorgant was involved again 10 minutes before the break, this time for all the wrong reasons. He was shown a deserved red card for an elbow on Mark Davies during a messy clash.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, it was the visitors that scored the opener.

Callum Wilson, top goal scorer this season for the visitors, dashed through the penalty area and neatly squeezed the ball through the legs of Lonergan to take the lead with the first attack of the second half.

It didn't take long for Wanderers to level things, however, with captain Jay Spearing twisting and turning 25 yards out, making room to thunder home to the relief of the home crowd.

Bolton were buoyed by that equaliser, with Davies seeming to be involved in every home attack.

Bournemouth seemed determined to pile the misery on their hosts though as, against the run of play, they took the lead on 68 minutes.

It was Wilson again who found himself one-on-one, after a fine ball from Harry Arter, and duly slotted into the net.
