Bolton Wanderers are poised to make Leicester City defender Matt Mills their first summer signing.
Mills is expected to complete a season-long move to Bolton after falling out of favour at the King Power Stadium.
The 25-year-old became Leicester's joint record signing when he arrived from Reading in a £5m deal last year.
However, Mills has been told that he is now surplus to requirements as Foxes manager Nigel Pearson begins an overhaul of his squad.
The player is expected to complete his move to Bolton, where he will battle it out with Zat Knight and Tim Ream for a centre-half spot at the start of the Championship season.
Mills made 31 appearances for Leicester, but was sent off twice.
