Sports Mole checks in with the Championship players on show at the World Cup in Brazil.

Footballers from all over the globe have travelled to compete at the World Cup and there are several representing England's second tier - the Championship.

Nine of the 24 clubs have players on show in Brazil and here, Sports Mole rounds up how they've fared so far following the completion of the first round of group fixtures.

Bolton Wanderers's Korean midfielder Lee Chung-Yong, above left, started for the Asian side in their opening Group H game against Russia last night.

The midfielder played the whole 90 minutes, earning a 5/10 rating, as his side drew 1-1 in Cuiaba.

Cardiff City have two players out in Brazil. Gary 'The Pitbull' Medel is a mainstay in Chile's side and played the full game as they beat Australia 3-1, also in Cuiaba. He was beaten in the air by Tim Cahill for the Aussie goal, though, so only got a 5/10.

The Welsh side are also represented by Kim Bo-Kyung, who came on in the 84th minute for South Korea against Russia.

Iran's Reza Ghoochannejhad is the sole Charlton Athletic player in Brazil. The 26-year-old led the line for the Iranians, earning a 7/10 score, as they managed to earn a point with a goalless draw against Nigeria.

Fulham are the best-represented Championship club at the World Cup with four Cottagers in action.

Both Bryan Ruiz and Ashkan Dejagah started for Costa Rica and Iran as they shocked Uruguay and drew with Nigeria respectively. Ruiz got an 8/10, while Dejagah scored five.

The other two Fulham men are Greek, and both Kostas Mitroglou and Giorgos Karagounis came off the bench as the 2004 European champions were beaten 3-0 by Colombia in Belo Horizonte.

Middlesbrough have Albert Adomah of Ghana, and his introduction 10 minutes from time coincided with the Black Stars equalising against the United States. It wouldn't be enough, though, as the US struck a winner soon after.

Two Canaries of Norwich City are in Brazil. Netherlands midfielder Leroy Fer has been an unused substitute in their opening two games, while Fenerbahce loanee Joseph Yobo, of Nigeria, was introduced after half an hour and kept a clean sheet against Iran, notching a 6/10.

Although out of contract and on his way out, Gonzalo Jara currently remains on the books at Nottingham Forest and started in defence for Chile and did well against the Aussies slightly out of position. 6/10.

Watford's one and only man in Brazil is defender Essaid Belkalem, who was an unused substitute for Algeria in their 2-1 defeat to Belgium.

Two of Wigan Athletic's three players are from Honduras. Roger Espinoza (5/10) played the full game as they were beaten 3-0 by France, while Juan Carlos Garcia was an unused substitute.

The only Championship player to find the net at the finals is Latic Jean Beausejour, who came off the bench for Chile against Australia and sealed the win with an assured finish in injury time.
