Bordeaux coach Francis Gillot has lamented his side's performance against Marseille in Ligue 1 on Friday.
Gillot believes that his side's inability to score goals was the main reason for their 1-0 defeat at Stade Velodrome.
"We're really being penalised by our lack of a cutting edge," he told reporters. "Even though we made a mistake at the back, there was certainly the opportunity to come back into it, but we score so few goals that it's better not to concede any.
"The Europa League has sunk us in the league. If we want to get through in the French Cup, we'll have to score a goal or go for penalties. We've had the same problem for the last six months, it's really tiresome.
"Today I finished with two attacking midfielders and four forwards, which just goes to show it's not the number of strikers that counts."
Bordeaux are currently 10th in the league table with 43 points from 31 matches.
